Jordan Rakei Live In South Africa with Allen & Heath dLive CTi1500
Jordan Rakei, a name synonymous with innovative soundscapes and emotionally charged performances, has captivated millions with his unique blend of soul, jazz, and R&B. Known for his mastery across multiple instruments and his soulful vocal prowess, Rakei has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, all while carving out his own distinct niche.
The New Zealand born musician, singer and songwriter included South African dates with stops in Cape Town & Johannesburg respectively. The first show was at the stunning Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town, before he moved over onto Marks Park in Emmerentia. Both shows were run on the Allen & Heath dLive.
Jordan has cemented his place as a groundbreaker in the music industry, and his team came in hot with two Allen & Heath dLive CTi1500s, with DM0 and CDM64 MixRacks. With the Allen & Heath CTi1500 tipping the scales at only 11.5Kgs, it is Tour-Ready and can travel as hand luggage, making it the perfect choice to tour and keep shows at a high consistency. Jordan’s engineers Tommy Williams & James Forde Stewart both flew down and travelled with their own rigs for Jordan’s performances in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Tommy Williams discussed the need for a rig they could carry on flights during their world tour. “The point is to set up and strike as quickly as possible, ” he said when chatting with South African Allen & Heath Product Specialist Lesedi Maponya during the show.
With Tommy Williams on Front of House Duties and James Forde Stewart on Monitors, the CTi1500s both included 128×128 Dante cards and gigaAce cards for added connectivity and splits. The CTi1500 is made from lightweight metal alloys with Titanium panels for extra rigidity. The surface features a 12″ touchscreen with 12 physical faders and 19 Assignable SoftKeys. MixRacks, they brought along the DM0 and the CDM64. The DM0 provides the connection hub with 3 I/O Ports as well as the Redundant Surface Link, DX Links & PSU. The CDM64 handles the physical ins and outs with 32 mic/line inputs, 16 line outputs and 1 I/O Port.
Jordan Rakei places his trust in Allen & Heath to deliver the best experience to concertgoers and music lovers. With the dLive CTi1500s and a strong team of professionals like Tommy & James traveling the world alongside Jordan, they have an incredible plug-and-play solution to maintain consistency and deliver the best performances they can to audiences around the world.
