Plug & Play Event Solutions invests in Martin Audio WPC Line Array System

Audiosure congratulates the Plug & Play Event Solutions team on their acquisition of a Martin Audio WPC Line Array System to their inventory. This full spectrum events solutions company is based in Windhoek, Namibia and caters for any size events and functions. Their incredible team is proficient in running an entire festival from the ground up including Sound, Lighting, AV and Staging to Bar Management, Access Control and Ticketing! Their professional team of technicians ensures that they pay attention to each event that they do, priding themselves on a concept-to-completion ethos for their impressive list of clients.

When it came to expanding their current inventory of PA, their technical team decided on 24 boxes of Martin Audio’s Wavefront Precision Compact Range. The WPC is a 3-way bi-amped, 2 x 10” Line Array Cabinet which utilises Martin Audio’s Scalable Resolution Advanced Array technology. This means that the 24 boxes can be split into smaller systems and the iKON amplifier channels can be routed to deliver different power considerations for the space and box count needed. Couple that with the DISPLAY 2 & 3 software and you have an extremely powerful package that can optimize the hardware to fully control the space. With features like hard avoid, audio engineers can keep the sound within environmental limits and ensure the energy is focused where it needs to be, whilst achieving optimal sound levels.

Martin Audio iK42 amplifiers are used to drive the system. Each iK42 amplifier can deliver up to 20,000W of power across 4 channels and can run all the way down to 2ohms. These Class D amplifiers all have high spec 96kHz DSP on all the inputs and outputs for comprehensive monitoring and control with over 1000 FIR filter taps at 48kHz on each of the output channels. Control networks on the iKON range include Analogue, AES3 or Dante options. Mounted neatly in Martin Audio’s Tour Grade Amp Rack System, these amplifiers are accompanied by Input and Output Distros neatly preinstalled into the 9U Shock Mounted 19” Rack, including an Input Patch panel, Ethernet Switches and Analogue, AES and CAT5e patch leads.

For Bass Reinforcement the SXH218 Cabinets are paired with the WPC array. These Hybrid Horn/Reflex Loaded Dual 18” Cabinets are paramount in the field of Ultra-High output ground-stack subwoofers. Capable of producing a 148dB peak at 1m with a frequency response of 32-150Hz at + 3dB, the SXH218’s feature dual long-excursion 18” / 4.5” voice coil neodymium drivers with water-resistant cones and triple roll surrounds. They can be powered by a single channel of iK42 or a bridged pair if the maximum output is needed.
